Annual District Meeting
The Rivendell Interstate School District Annual Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2020
at Rivendell Academy has been POSTPONED (tentative date May 5, 2020).

A Friday Hello from Mrs. MacQueen

January 8, 2016

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday break. It was great to return to school on Monday excited to see our friends and share stories of vacation happenings.

As you know, Mrs. Drew is on leave taking care of a family medical matter. We are so fortunate to have found a wonderful long-term substitute for her. On Monday, Megan Helm began working with our students. Megan is from the mid-west and has lived locally for the past few years. She has a degree in both K-12 music and ELL (English as a Second Language). Megan is very excited about working at both elementary schools and we are thrilled to have her here.

Earlier in the week I sent a letter home about the Winter Program. Due to higher costs and lack of volunteers, Rivendell Rec will not be offering skating this year. Here at WES we only have 15 students skiing so we will be running a regular academic schedule on Thursdays. Students who are skiing will be dismissed at 11:45 for lunch and to catch the

bus. All other students will remain in class until 1:45. Mrs. Keiling and I are working together with Rivendell Rec to offer other outdoor activities and hope to have more information soon.

Have a great weekend and try to stay warm!

Family Reminders

  • Tardiness: School begins at 8:00 a.m. and we expect students to be on time. If your child is tardy, you MUST sign in at the front desk and let Carrie know about lunch/snack milk needs.
  • Winter Clothing: Students need to dress appropriately for recess. Unless the temperature dips below ten degrees, children go outside. It is imperative that your child has all the necessary winter clothing: a warm coat, gloves, hat, snow pants and winter boots on their bodies.
  • Ski Thursdays: The ski program will begin next week. Skiers will be dismissed at 11:45 and all other students at our regular dismissal time of 1:45.
  • Parking: When you pick up or drop off your child, please park in the parking lot and not on the edge of the driveway where the NO PARKING signs have been added. Also, no parking in the bus lane at any time. Thank you for your cooperation!
