The Rivendell Interstate School District Annual Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2020
at Rivendell Academy has been POSTPONED (tentative date May 5, 2020).

A Friday Hello from Mrs. MacQueen

December 4, 2015wes 120415

I hope your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. It is with a heavy heart that I share some sad news about our Holiday Concert scheduled for next Tuesday. Mrs. Drew, our music teacher, recently found out that a family member is very sick. Due to her leave of absence we will be cancelling the concerts at both elementary schools. Please see the attached letter for more information.

It the time of year when I like to chat about attendance and tardiness. As you know, we have attendance and tardiness policies. We know there is a powerful link between successful learning and regular school attendance. “It’s only one day! Why is attendance all that important?” Learning builds day by day, and if your child is not in school, he/she can’t learn. When students return from being absent they have to work harder to catch up on class discussions, and to make up missing assignments. Having good attendance matters.

Getting to school on time is also important for the success of your children. Transitioning from home to school early in the morning is difficult for many children. Being tardy causes your child to miss important directions and social learning during morning meeting. If you are unsure about the attendance and tardiness policies, please refer to the Elementary Student/Family Handbook or see me for more information.

Reminders/Important Information Tardiness: School begins at 8:00 a.m. and we expect students to be on time. If your child is tardy, you MUST sign in at the front desk and let Carrie know about lunch/snack mile needs. Winter Clothing: Students need to dress appropriately for recess. Unless the temperature dips below ten degrees, children go outside. It is imperative that your child has all the necessary winter clothing: a warm coat, gloves, hat, snow pants and winter boots. Early Release Thursdays: After vacation, the ski program will run. Skiers will be dismissed at 11:45. All winter program students will be dismissed from school at 1:45 p.m. Parking: When you pick up or drop off your child, please park in the parking lot and not on the edge of the driveway where the NO Parking signs have been added. Also, no parking in the bus lane at any time.
