Important Information about this Year’s Visions Program

Many of you have expressed concern about the future of the Visions Afterschool Program. Unfortunately we learned in late April that we would not receive another 21st Century grant. For the past ten years, our schools have had the distinction of running exemplary programs. These after school and summer camps were supported by federal money from the 21st Century grant, tuition fees and the local school budget. With no money from the grant and our funding cut in half, we have had to make difficult decisions about how to keep the programs operating. To save money, we’ve eliminated the Director’s position, cut summer programming, and raised tuition rates. We are committed to Visions and will keep searching for creative ways to ensure these excellent programs continue.

Important information about this year’s Visions program:

  • The Visions tuition rate will increase to $10 per day (which is lower than other after school programs and equates to less than $4 per hour). Tuition will be $10.00 a day, or $5.00 if your family qualifies for free or reduced lunch. We cannot offer any full scholarships this year.
  • Visions will run the same times/days as last year: Mon-Wed, 3:00-5:30 and Thursday, 2:00-5:30.
  • The program begins on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Registration forms will go home the first week of school and are due back by Thursday, September 4th. Your child must be registered and the tuition needs to be paid before he/she starts the program.
  • It is more important than ever to volunteer and help the Visions program. If you have a special skill or talent, please contact your child's principal.
