Gail Keiling and Penny Perryman Receive VAEOP Awards

Rivendell's former Head of Schools/Samuel Morey Elementary School Principal, Gail Keiling, and Penny Perryman, Executive Assistant/Human Resources Manager recently received awards from the Vermont Association of Educational Office Professionals (VAEOP) at their fall conference at Lake Morey Resort.

Perryman Keiling Awards 10 24 16

Gail Keiling was awarded VAEOP's 2016 Administrator of the Year Award. Each year the VAEOP asks members to nominate an educational administrator who deserves recognition for their support of educational office professionals, their experience and contribution to education in general and their support of VAEOP. Keiling was nominated by Rivendell employees, Angel Parkin and Penny Perryman. VAEOP, after a review of all applications, selected Keiling for this award.

Perryman was the recipient of VAEOP's Apple Award, which is presented to outstanding educational office professionals who have made a special contribution to support the education of Vermont's students through their work. She was nominated for this award by former Rivendell Superintendent, Brenda Needham. Perryman has worked for Rivendell since the beginning of the District starting in 1999. She is on the VAEOP Board of Directors as the Region 5 Chairperson and is also an active member of the National Association of Educational Office Professionals.

Summer Reading

Teachers have created some new and exciting summer reading assignments for students this year. Kindergarten through fourth grade students all have a summer reading activity card. Reading during the summer is essential to maintain their reading progress and not fall behind.

School Board Meeting Schedule

for 2016-2017 School Year

SummerScapes is Back!

We just got notice that we have received a large grant to bring back our awesome summer program, SummerScapes. Camp will run the four weeks, July 5th — 29th and will offer morning academic programs and afternoon enrichment camps.

Our theme this summer is "Under the Sea," and we plan to travel to the Boston Aquarium and Echo in Burlington. Registration forms will go home soon! For more information, contact Tammy MacQueen  or Jenna Ditcheos.

MMS Login Changes

We will be moving our MMS database (hosted on-site by us) to MMS Online (hosted off-site by MMS). The look, feel and use of the program will remain very much the same.

We will shutdown the on-site server Tuesday April 19th at 8:00 AM and will then begin using MMS-Online. The new links for MMS access will become effective on Tuesday, April 19th.

Thank you Voters

We appreciate your support!
