Rivendell’s curriculum has been designed and evaluated in reference to nationally and state recognized standards. Assessment data is used to determine staff development needs, so that each teacher has the skills he or she needs to support students as they meet high standards. Teachers will be expected to document training and demonstrate expertise in the following areas:

• Research on learning
• Teaching to standards
• Using assessment data to plan instruction
• Design and use of comprehensive and multifaceted instruction
• Emphasis on writing and numeracy across the curriculum
